What is The Shizzle?
The Shizzle is a unique Jamaican jerk-style marinade. It is an honest product from an honest place. It was born out of passion for good food and good times, drenched with good beer.
What's in it?
While the taste profile is one-of-a-kind, The Shizzle pays serious respect to the ancient traditions of Jamaican jerk flavor. We won’t tell you ALL of our secrets, but the government requires us to put our ingredients on the jar... So, we can’t hide the fact that the primary ingredient is a special pineapple mash. The mash is loaded with a precise blend of herbs, spices, garlic, and habanero peppers, crafted in small batches with only the finest ingredients available. Our unique recipe and blending process create a naturally sweet and spicy sauce, which becomes perfectly caramelized and crispy when cooked slowly on the grill or in the oven.
What's NOT in it?
The Shizzle does not contain any high fructose corn syrup, MSG, artificial preservatives or colors.
Is it SPICY?
In a word– yes. We couldn’t call it a "jerk" marinade with a straight face if we didn’t let the habaneros shine through. The heat level of our "Original Recipe" is designed to be mildly offensive to folks who don’t prefer hot food, and right down the middle for those that do. However, in case you have ever bitten a raw habanero pepper– and liked it– you will be pleased to know that we have now released a "Voodoo Hot!" version of The Shizzle. It is made with about 3X the habaneros of the original, which puts the heat level in line with the fiery jerk pans you might find in "old" Jamaica. Most importantly, the trademark Shizzle flavor still shines brightly through the heat in this version. Go for it!
How do I cook with it?
The Shizzle is an excellent marinade for all meats and veggies. We think its flavors shine best when cooked and caramelized (although many hard-core Shizzleheads admit to eating it straight from the jar...). We recommend it especially for use on chicken, shrimp, pork, fish, and wild game. For best results, use a zip top plastic bag or bowl, pour in enough of The Shizzle to cover the meat, marinate 1 to 24 hours, and cook slow on the grill or in the oven.
